Songs that lend a voice to the equestrian world in a way only music can.
The famous All England Jumping Course at Hickstead is set to see a lot of new faces this fall. On September 12 and 13, the venue will be transformed into a two day music festival, headlined by top British singer/songwriter Jessie J and hit group The Vamps. A full supporting line up is expected to follow shortly.
According to director, Lizzie Bunn, Hickstead’s expansion into music will raise revenue for the venue that will be invested back in equestrian sport, while exposing thousands of music fans to all the fine amenities that Hickstead has to offer. It’s a real win-win for this legendary horse facility.
And even though they are dipping their toe in the music world, Hickstead directors are determined to keep this event equestrian. The music festival’s namesake, Boomerang, is none other than Eddie Macken’s famous mount who won the Hickstead Derby a record four consecutive times from 1976 to 1979. Today, winners of the Equestrian.com Derby are even presented with the Boomerang Trophy, made in honor of this magnificent horse.
If you’d like to get in on the action of the inaugural Boomerang Hickstead music festival, today is your first chance. The ticket pre-sale opens today, April 20, 2015.
