Songs that lend a voice to the equestrian world in a way only music can.
In honor of the World Equestrian Games, 100% Sound is heading back to France this week to soak up a bit more of that modern French pop sound. Although the Alltech Music Festival line-up is packed full of native artists, there is one act that probably should have made the cut – Pony Pony Run Run!
Pony Pony Run Run is an electro pop trio, hailing from Nantes, whose song of the summer, “Hey You,” garnered the band critical acclaim and commercial appeal back in 2009. Now, two albums in, they continue to make danceable tunes for the world to enjoy.
Truth be told, the most equestrian thing about these boys is their name, which the band insists was simply dreamed up in the bathroom. There is no childhood history of riding horses here. Nevertheless, I bet that name alone would be a sure winner with the WEG crowd. Then Pony Pony Run Run would deliver a sound that can keep the crowds prancing all night long.
Take a listen to a few tracks from Pony Pony Run Run, and imagine yourself amid the more than one thousand talented horses that are currently storming Normandy and the WEG even if you are a million miles away from the action!
