FEI World Cup Jumping & Dressage Finals – Lyons 2014

It’s on!  The FEI World Cup Finals in Jumping and Dressage are taking place now in France’s second biggest city, Lyons.  Festivities kicked off yesterday with an extraordinary photo shoot that paired horsepower with ballet.  Olympic and European dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin and US Elite Jumping rider Charlie Jacobs went head to head with dancers from the Minsk Bolshoi ballet.  These beautiful photographs are the result.  And, you can go behind the scenes with this exclusive video from FEI.

Finals competition begins on Friday with the first of three show jumping competitions, which will determine the World Cup champion.  The French are lining up behind their four riders, which includes the favorite Simon Delestre, while Americans are hoping that one of their eleven riders may come out on top, as Beezie Madden did last year.  Dressage Freestyle will take over the center stage on Sunday, pitting greats like Charlotte Dujardin, Edward Gal and Isabel Werth against each other for the World Cup title.

In addition to the center stage competition, these World Cup Finals promise a full schedule of equestrian arts.  Jean-François Pignon will dance with his twelve free horses on Friday and Saturday.
