Songs that lend a voice to the equestrian world in a way only music can.
Happy Thursday 100% Sound fans! Today I’m tossing the writing responsibilities to some true professionals. No, I don’t mean horseback riders necessarily. I mean authors. Some of my favorite quotes combine horses and music in a way that should make any equestrian’s heart sing, and I want to share them with you. These quotes will be a new series here at 100% Sound so stay tuned for more in the future.
Today I begin with the opening lines of the William Henry Ogilvie poem, “The Hoofs of the Horses.” Ogilvie was in fact a poet and horseman who had a great love of the Australian outback, dogs and horses, of course! Much of his poetry involved equestrian pursuits, but this poem in particular appeals to me because of the reference to music in the opening lines.
Enjoy and share these wonderful lines from William Henry Ogilvie!
