We pretend to go to the horse show but everyone really knows it’s a circus!
Bring on the clowns! And the horses too!

2014 Wellington FEI Nations Cup Dressage
While the Olympic Games in Sochi have us all feeling patriotic this month, alas, these are the Winter Olympics, so there are no equestrian sports to cheer on. But have no fear! FEI Nations Cup Dressage is on at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida.
Last year dressage joined jumping and eventing as an FEI Nations Cup event, with Vidauban, France; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Aachen, Germany; and Hickstead, Great Britain, playing host to the inaugural trial season. This year the Nations Cup Dressage series expanded its schedule to include this kick off competition in Wellington, as well as an event in Kristiansand, Norway.
And so far, there is reason for Team USA to smile. Among the nine teams that competed on Wednesday and Thursday, including two U.S. teams, two Canadian teams, as well as teams from Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Colombia, and Spain, the USA I Team took top honors. The gold medal winning U.S. team is Silva Martin, Tina Konyot, Adrienne Lyle, and Shawna Harding. The silver medal went to a Canadian team, and the Spaniards clinched the bronze.
You can read full results coverage Eurodressage here. And don’t take your eyes off Wellington just yet. The best is yet to come as FEI I-1 Freestyle and FEI Grand Prix Freestyle competition takes place under the lights tonight, and individual medals are awarded.
So head over to the USEF Network to see video-on-demand from all of the competition on Wednesday and Thursday, including the gold medal performance from USA I Team, and don’t miss the live stream of the musical freestyles tonight at 5:15 and 8:15 pm eastern time!
