Riding Habit Revised a column where the best and worst of equestrian fashion and decor is reviewed with a modern edge.
Most people go to the rodeo for the “boots and chaps. It’s cowboy hats. It’s spurs and latigo. It’s the ropes and the reins and the joy and the pain,” as Garth Brooks famously sang. But when it’s Las Vegas at Christmastime, they are also there for the shopping!
The Cowboy Christmas Gift Show, which takes over 300,000 square feet of show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the ten days of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, offers more goodies than even the most avid shopper could hope to take in. Four hundred plus vendors are on hand, featuring everything from boots and chaps to the most expensive furniture and fine art.
Amid so many options, it can sometimes be hard for the Counter-Canter Culture customer like us to find those products that speak to our unique sensibilities. So in this week’s Riding Habit Revised, I’m here to help you with this list of the must see vendors and products at Cowboy Christmas for the counter-culture equestrian. Furry vests, unexpectedly bold purses, edgy cuff bracelets, rock ‘n’ roll jeans, glittering belts and one-of-a-kind cowboy boots are the order of the day.
I encourage you to take in this list as well as this floor plan before you tackle Cowboy Christmas in person. And, if you can’t be there, bring the shopping experience home by following the links to each of the recommended vendor’s online shop. Happy Cowboy Christmas Shopping!
