Putting to shame our own rather lazy post-Turkey mood, Kate Samuels of Eventing Nation presents Clipping Creations: Thanksgiving Hangover Edition. As Samuel notes, “There’s nothing that says “horse person” quite as much as the sensation of a buzzing clipper in your hand for two hours straight, wearing a rain coat and rain pants inside the barn, and sneezing horse hair out of your nose for days.” We totally agree…
The Denver Broncos beat the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday December 1, but as usual, here at Counter-Canter Culture what we really care about is Thunder II the team mascot. An engaging article in Horse&Rider by Julie Preble reveals little known (but important to us) details such as the fact that Thunder plays with the water bottles when his team isn’t scoring and gets hot cider from the caterers when it’s cold.
Though technically Scott Brash won the Global Champions Tour the week before last on November 24, the video of his thrilling ride was just made available on November 29th so it makes this week’s column. Watch the jump-off where Brash and Hello Sanctos shave 0.66 seconds off Ludger Beerbaum’s 43.83 time to win.
